Grade Three Workshop

Motivational Set:
Play music from around the time the students were born, up beat, peppy
a) Chica Cherry Cola - be-bop sound 10 years ago
b) Surf board/Skate board culture. Cut out of a piece of foam a shape of a board and play Surfin’USA or the theme from Hawaii 5-0
c) Lead group activities to move the students around on the “surf board” - a theme from the course “MAKE BELIEVE”.
Goals
- To help teachers feel more familiar with the curriculum documents
- Take some ideas home that may be useful in the classroom

O/H - Christmas concerts, drama productions and assemblies are not the sole property of one department or subject area

Build on the idea the subject content you are most familiar with. It can be a building block for Arts Ed. awareness help it make sense to the students - ”Make it make sense”.
